Adam T. Clifford is an Associate in the Chicago office. He has consulted on engagements in most of Ocean Tomo’s practice areas. Currently, Mr. Clifford is focused on the Risk Management and Expert Testimony practices. In his role with the risk management practice, he has been involved in the creation and promotion of current and soon-to-be-launched products. With the Expert Testimony practice, he has consulted on dozens of engagements involving the valuation of intellectual property and the determination of economic damages in commercial suits; including patent infringement, trade secret theft and technology misappropriation litigation. While specific issues vary by engagement, most have included evaluation and analysis of financial and strategic data to support or rebut quantification of lost profits, reasonable royalties, price erosion, unjust enrichment or diminished business value.
Mr. Clifford has also provided consultation and analysis to support clients evaluating business transactions, including licensing negotiations and IP sales or acquisitions, through his involvement with Ocean Tomo’s additional practices areas. In this capacity, he has performed valuations of businesses, existing and emerging technologies, and other intangible assets.
Prior to joining Ocean Tomo, Mr. Clifford worked in various finance and accounting capacities with a real estate holding and management company. His professional experience includes internal audit and financial reporting, financial modeling and forecasting, and tax planning.
Mr. Clifford serves on the Board of Directors of Stand Up for Kids – Chicago. He holds a B.S. in Finance from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business, with concentration in Real Estate and a field specialization in not-for-profit organization.
