On November 18, AU Optronics (AUO) announced that it has been selected as a constituent for the 2011/2012 Ocean Tomo 300 Patent Index. Ocean Tomo recognizes AUO’s inclusion across four of the six years that the Index has been published.
According to AUO, the company has applied for approximately 16,100 patents and has been issued a total of 8,600 global patents. AUO is the largest patent holder in Taiwan’s display industry, and is currently the fourth largest corporate patent holder in China.
