Shirley Webster, Expert Testimony Managing Director from Ocean Tomo’s Houston office will be speaking at the Damages and Injunctions Committee on Patent Damages Summit hosted by the Intellectual Property Owners Association. The Summit will take place on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the Sheraton Hotel in Palo Alto, CA. The patent damages summit will open with a presentation of several fact patterns and a real-time, interactive audience survey on damages issues.
Shirley will join a panel discussing evolving law; regarding remedies beyond royalties. This panel will explore developments in the law regarding lost profits and other available remedies. Panelists will discuss the role, if any, the Entire Market Value Rule (“EMVR”) and appointment should have in lost profit cases. Panelists will also discuss the evolving law related to enhanced damages, attorney’s fees and permanent injunctions.

Stathis is the Marketing Director for Ocean Tomo and serves on the board for the Center for Applied Innovation, a Chicago-based non-profit organization created to manage education, public policy outreach and related economic activity around applied technology and intellectual property (IP) rights in the State of Illinois and around the world. She is the co-creator of the Center for Applied Innovation’s Invent for Humanity™ Technology Transfer Exchange Fair, a community, marketplace and event facilitating Appropriate Technology transfer for the betterment of mankind. She also serves on the board of The Children’s Research Fund, principal benefactor of the Stanley Manne Children’s Research Institute, the research arm of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, having served as the annual campaign co-chair in 2013.
