Ocean Tomo’s Senior Director of Client Services, Molly Keelan serves as Board Chair for the Chicago Women in IP, an organization she co-founded.
ChiWIP will be hosting their annual Girl Scout IP Patch Event at TechNexus Venture Collaborative on March 9th. Brownie troops throughout Chicagoland are invited to join the event where the kids will have the opportunity to work on both their Girl Scout Inventor Badge, along with their IP Patch.
Resulting from a partnership between the Girl Scouts Council of the Nation’s Capital and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), in collaboration with the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO) Education Foundation, the IP Patch for Girl Scouts was designed to increase awareness of the creation and protection of intellectual property across disciplines and particularly as it relates to the fields of STEM for girls of all ages.
Molly reports that the Chicago Women in IP (ChiWIP), has grown dramatically since 2015 when 95 women first gathered at the offices of Ocean Tomo. “Events like the Girl Scout IP Patch are important to mission of the Chicago Women in IP as we seek to mentor the next generation of innovators”, Molly shared.
