Donald L. Logerwell
Mr. Logerwell is currently a full-time Neutral, Educator, Arbitrator and Mediator in all aspects of commercial dispute resolution, especially construction, business law, employment law and intellectual property.  He was previously a partner at the law firms of Garvey, Schubert & Barer (1991-2000) and Logerwell, Schoonmaker and Berger (1982-91), where he was primarily engaged in civil litigation.  His experience in the protection of intellectual property includes technology licensing, patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret disputes. He has also served as a Special Deputy in the King County Prosecutor’s Office (1975-78) and clerked for Judge Eugene A. Wright, United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Logerwell has mediated over 200 commercial, intellectual property and construction disputes in the United States and Western Canada.  His intellectual property mediation cases include licensing and software development for cell phones; trademark disputes in the food and beverage industry; copyright disputes involving commercial photography and licensing; and patent disputes in a wide range of technologies.

Since 1986, he has served as faculty member for the American Arbitration Association, the Washington State and King County Bar Associations, the Federal Bar Association for the Western District of Washington and the British Columbia International Commercial Arbitration Centre (Vancouver, B.C., Canada) involving a variety of different lecture topics and training seminars.

Mr. Logerwell received his B.S. in Engineering from the University of Nevada and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Prior to law school, Mr. Logerwell was a special purpose computer design engineer with the General Electric Company. In that capacity, he was awarded two U.S. patents.
