Standard Reports
Today, IP and patent data is readily available but from sources and in formats that are impractical for quickly and efficiently deriving meaningful business intelligence. Various software tools are available to address these challenges but typically require a specialist to extract useful information and analysis. Utilizing Ocean Tomo’s PatentRatings® system and analytics resources, OT Research presents several cost-effective solutions by offering standardized IP research reports that provide information that is packaged to deliver immediate impact to users. We offer three types of Standard Reports: Patent-Based, Technology-Based, and Company-Based.
Patent-Based Reports — Patent-Based Reports provide a means of efficiently obtaining valuable information regarding any issued U.S. patent in a cost-effective manner. Patent-Based Reports provide crucial information relating to a patent’s ownership and assignment history, prosecution history, patent family information, and relevance to other similar patents and potential prior art.
Technology-Based Reports — Published quarterly, Technology-Based Reports are available for select, pre-defined technology areas, providing a detailed review of categorized patents relevant to the particular technology area, key assignees and inventors, relative quality, and trends relevant to the specific technology. In Q2 2009, Technology-Based Reports will be available for financial services, e-commerce, and liquid crystal display (LCD) technologies. Technology-Based Reports for additional technologies will be published throughout 2009.
Company-Based Reports — Available for any company with assigned U.S. patents, Company-Based Reports present a comprehensive analysis of the subject company’s patent holdings. Company-Based Reports offer a basic due diligence for all patents assigned to that company, providing publication information, legal status, related patents, inventors, attorney information, and assignment history for each patent. In addition, Company-Based reports provide various analytics and metrics for all patents held by the company.
Custom ReportsOT Research also offers the flexibility of allowing users to tailor the scope of the technology, horizon, and reporting of information. Custom Reports may be updated on a periodic basis or upon request.
