Saadia Saifuddin is responsible for overseeing the Analytics Practice at Ocean Tomo. The practice provides companies best in class tools, information, processes and policies to strategically integrate and optimize their IP operations and enhance the value of their IP portfolio. She previously worked at BlackBerry Limited for 5 years in their in-house patent department where she managed a patent prosecution portfolio, performed technical and market analysis, and conducted patentability opinions on invention disclosures.

Prior to working at BlackBerry, Ms. Saifuddin was a patent examiner at the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) for 5 years where she examined National phase patent applications as well as applications filed under the Patent Co-operation Treaty (PCT). She performed detailed prior art and patent analysis, wrote official Office Actions citing defects in the applications, and recommended applications for allowance. Prior to working at CIPO, she worked as an optical system design engineer at Nortel Networks Limited for 2 years.

Saadia has undergraduate and graduate degrees in electrical engineering from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada and an MBA from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management.
