Earlier this month, Ocean Tomo participated in a webcast presented by the Licensing Executives Society (LES) USA/Canada
The webcast focused on IP Valuation in Dispute Resolution: International Arbitration vs U.S. Litigation. The panel discussed the differences between transactional intellectual property valuation and intellectual property damages analysis in the context of litigation.
Ocean Tomo Valuation Managing Director, Roy D’Souza presented to approximately 50 people gathered for the LES Webinar Wednesday where his focus was on intellectual property valuation for dispute in arbitration. Roy advanced Five Things to Expect as it pertains to the valuation of intellectual property in arbitration:
- #1 Expect that the arbitrator will have very diligently read all reports
- #2 Expect that the arbitrator will be very well versed in valuation theory
- #3 Expect limited discovery resulting in more freedom to work with counsel
