Veris from Ocean Tomo’s Michelle Avery recently spoke at William & Mary’s Mason Summer Business Institute (MSBI). Michelle was selected to discuss non-traditional finance options incorporating both her background in forensic analysis and auditing and her role on the AICPA’s Financial Reporting Executive Committee (FinRec). FinREC is a senior committee of the AICPA for financial reporting, authorized to make public statements on behalf of AICPA on financial reporting matters.
William & Mary’s MSBI is a four-week online program where undergraduate students receive access to training platforms, unique special topic education, and professional development preparation and have the opportunity to connect with industry professionals in accounting, business analytics, consulting, finance, and marketing.
Michelle is a Senior Managing Director and Practice Leader, Accounting & Auditing Litigation at Veris from Ocean Tomo where she is responsible for directing all phases of forensic analysis in connection with a variety of accounting, financial and economic engagements arising from disputes, litigation, arbitrations and investigations. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) with the AICPA.
