Cristie is the Chief People Officer for Ocean Tomo, a part of J.S. Held, and is located in the Reston (DC Metro) office. Cristie is responsible for all marketing and employment branding, social media, hiring, university relations and onboarding efforts including managing the firm’s active college recruiting programs.
Cristie graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the College of William & Mary. She earned her CPA while practicing public accounting as an auditor with Johnson Lambert & Co before joining Ocean Tomo, where she is in her 20th year. Cristie is a Past President of the Virginia Association of Colleges & Employers (VACE) and is a current member of William & Mary’s Career Services Employer Advisory Board and University of Richmond’s Q-Camp Advisory Council. She is a past participant of Employer Advisory groups at University of Richmond, JMU and Virginia Tech and is a frequent speaker on topics involving Careers in Accounting & Consulting, Success in the Workplace, Employer Advisory Boards, Externships and Experiential Learning, Creating Ambassadorship on Campus and Generational Differences in the Workplace. Cristie is a recipient of the VACE A. Isabel Gordon Distinguished Service Award, the VACE John L. Chase Meritorious Service Award and the VACE Leadership Award for contributions in her field.
