Sam Carlen is an Analyst in the Intellectual Property Disputes Financial Expert Testimony practice at Ocean Tomo, working out of the Chicago office. The practice area quantifies economic damages arising from intellectual property disputes and provides general litigation support.
Prior to joining Ocean Tomo, Mr. Carlen worked as a Research Analyst at OnPoint Analytics, Inc., a statistical and economic consulting firm. In this role, he drafted sections of expert reports in cases involving antitrust and anticompetitive practices, pharmaceuticals, class certification, intellectual property, and other types of disputes, analyzed data in Excel, Stata, and R, conducted market and industry research, prepared testifying experts for depositions, and provided other litigation support.
Mr. Carlen graduated from St. Olaf College in 2020, where he received his B.A. in Economics and Mathematics, with a Statistics & Data Science Concentration. Outside of classes, Mr. Carlen worked as a reporter and editor for St. Olaf’s student newspaper.
