Randall (Randy) Rader is a member of the Board of Advisors of Ocean Tomo, a part of J.S. Held. In this role, he contributes to the creation of new products and services for the firm. He is former Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, appointed by President George H. W. Bush. He was appointed to the United States Court of Federal Claims in 1988 by President Ronald Reagan.
Mr. Rader has served as law professor, teaching patent law and intellectual property course at Tsinghua University, George Washington University, University of Virginia School of Law, Georgetown University Law Center and the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center. Mr. Rader is the co-author of a casebook on patent law. He has received numerous awards including the J. William Fulbright Award for Distinguished Public Service. Mr. Rader has led or participated in over sixty delegations to foreign nations focused on teaching rule of law or intellectual property concepts to developing nations. He is on the Board of the International IP Commercialization Council (IIPCC.org), a global NGO.
